A fun, canteen-style dim sum restaurant; set over two floors and with a bustling atmosphere. This is the first London branch of this successful Taiwanese export, famed for their moreish xiao long bao.
The super-hyped Taiwanese spot Din Tai Fung are finally opening their second restaurant in Selfridges. A second site was always in the works but unfortunately, Covid prevented the launch of the long-awaited Tottenham Court Road branch.
So we missed this when they launched last week - but think it's well worth bringing to your attention as a public service announcement. When we first visited Din Tai Fung, among the things we really wanted to try were the salted egg yolk custard lava buns - made with duck egg yolk. We'd heard talk of them, they sound amazing and they LOOK amazing. But were, alas, not available. Until now.
World-famous Taiwanese dumpling chain Din Tai Fung has announced that its first-ever London restaurant will open on the 5 December — on Henrietta Street in Covent Garden.
